Atlanta Silverbacks Look to Clinch Fourth Place

Atlanta Silverbacks News Release
The Atlanta Silverbacks (12-9-6) will finish out their 2007 regular season on the road in Canada tomorrow night (9.7.07) against the Vancouver Whitecaps (9-7-10). The Silverbacks, currently in fourth place, will be fighting to remain in one of the top four spots of the USL First Division - a win or a tie against the Whitecaps will clinch the fourth place spot for the Silverbacks. Finishing in the top four ensures Atlanta the right to chose whether they host the first or second game of the first round series. That series will be determined on an aggregate goal basis; for example if Atlanta wins the first leg 2-0 and loses the second leg 1-2, Atlanta will advance to the semi-finals 3-2 on aggregate goals.
Tomorrow night's match is the second leg in a two-game away stand for the Silverbacks - they fell 1-0 to the Montreal Impact last night (9.5.07). The Silverbacks and the Whitecaps met earlier in the season at RE/MAX Greater Atlanta Stadium; Atlanta's Warren Ukah scored two goals to lead his team past Vancouver in a 2-0 shutout.
The Silverbacks will host one leg of the quarterfinals during the weekend of September 14, 15, and 16. Atlanta's opponent, as well as the date of the game, will be determined after the completion of the 2007 regular season. Tickets are now available to reserve your seat to watch the Silverbacks in the postseason for the first time in five years. SEASON TICKET HOLDER APPRECIATION CELEBRATION
To show appreciation for the support of season ticket holders this season, the Silverbacks will be hosting a party immediately following the home playoff game next weekend. The post-game celebration will be a great opportunity to get autographs and meet the team. Season ticket holders will be required to show either their Silverbacks lanyard or their ticket stub to gain admittance to the party. The date and opponent for the playoff match will be announced after the completion of the regular season.
