
Atlanta recalls goaltender Berkhoel, Wolves signs Reiter

The Atlanta Thrashers have recalled goaltender ADAM BERKHOEL (BUHRK-uhl) from the Chicago Wolves. In addition, the Wolves have signed netminder KEVIN REITER (WRITER) from the United Hockey League's Missouri River Otters.
BERKHOEL ranks fifth in the American Hockey League with a .939 save percentage (77 saves on 82 shots), which includes recording 40 saves on 42 shots last Friday to earn his first AHL win. He has notched a 1-1-0 record and a 2.53 goals-against average in two games with the Wolves this year.
Last season, the 24-year-old goalie registered a 0-1-0 record with a 4.04 goals-against average and a .875 save percentage with the Wolves, his rookie year. He also posted a 9-10-0-5 mark with a 2.43 goals-against average and a .913 save percentage in 24 games with the ECHL's Gwinnett Gladiators.
BERKHOEL will join Wolves netminder MICHAEL GARNETT in Atlanta. GARNETT made his National Hockey League debut on Wednesday, registering 29 saves on 30 shots after replacing starter Mike Dunham in the seventh minute of play.
REITER went 19-11-3 in 38 games for the River Otters with a 2.65 goals-against-average, a .907 save percentage and five shutouts last season. The Pittsburgh native recorded a 2-3 mark with a 2.15 goals-against-average and a .942 save percentage in six postseason games.
