Atlanta Vibe News Release
ATLANTA, Ga. - The Atlanta Vibe (19-5) defeated the Columbus Fury (8-12) Thursday evening at Gas South Arena, closing out their regular season with their league-leading 10th sweep of the year.
The Regular Season Champions hit .346 in the sweep, led by outside hitter Leketor Member-Meneh, who finished with 14 kills at a .364 clip, and followed closely behind by outside hitter Leah Edmond's 13 kills off a team-high .417 hitting percentage.
Vibe libero and U.S. National Team hopeful Morgan Hentz once again commanded the Vibe's back-row defensive effort, tallying 11 digs to keep the advantage on Atlanta's side. Edmond contributed to the scrappy defensive effort with nine digs, helping Atlanta pick up more digs than their opponent (43 to Columbus' 30) for the 18th-straight time and the 23rd time this season (out of 24 total matches).
Setter Marlie Monserez dished out 38 assists, just shy of her record in a three-set match this season.
The Vibe have now finished their regular season schedule and return to competition in the semifinals round of the Pro Volleyball Federation Championship tournament on May 15th, where they enter as the No. 1 overall seed to take on the No. 4 seeded team.
