Greeneville Astros News Release
GREENEVILLE, TN - If you are part of the nation's proud military tradition, the Greeneville Astros want YOU to attend Thursday's game for "Military Appreciation Night" presented by Miller High Life. Throughout their game with the Bristol Sox, the Astros will be recognizing each branch of the armed forces.
The Astros are offering free tickets to all active or retired military personnel when they show a valid Military ID at the Astros ticket office. Meanwhile, all family members will have the option to purchase $3 discounted tickets. In addition, the first 100 veterans through the gates will receive a free food and beverage voucher and Miller High Life T-shirt.
"Recognizing our military is very important to us," said Astros general manager David Lane. "We have done Military Appreciation Night for six years now, but we can never do enough to honor these brave men and women for their sacrifices to our country."
To honor the military, the American Patriot Guard Riders will make a motorcycle run around the field at Pioneer Park during a pre-game ceremony. The American Legion Color Guard will present the Colors during the National Anthem.
Military vehicles will also be parked outside the front entrance to the stadium for photo opportunities before the game. Gates will open to the ballpark at 6:00pm. Game time is scheduled for 7:00pm.
The Greeneville Astros are the Appalachian League affiliate of the Houston Astros. Located at Pioneer Park on the campus of Tusculum College, the Astros office hours are Monday-Friday from 9:00am-5:30pm. For more information, visit www.greenevilleastros.com or call (423)638-0411.
