Astros-Mariners suspend game due to rain

Greeneville, TN - The Appalachian League contest between the Greeneville Astros (23-10) and Pulaski Mariners (19-13) was suspended on Friday due to rain. At the time of the suspension, the Astros were leading 2-1 in the middle of the second inning. The suspended game will resume at Pioneer Park on Saturday, July 27 at 3:00pm and will be followed by the regularly scheduled game. Prior to the rain arriving, the Astros scored two runs in the first inning on an Edwin Gomez RBI double and a Chase McDonald RBI single. Then, in the second inning, the Cardinals got a RBI single from Franklin Diaz to cut the Astros lead to 2-1 in the middle of the second inning.
