San Antonio - On Thursday afternoon, the Texas League Office announced its 2015 Post-Season All Star Team.

San Antonio placed two players on the squad: OF Yeison Asencio and the since promoted RHP Colin Rea.

In 117 games this season for San Antonio, Asencio is hitting .305 (138-for-452) with 23 doubles, one triple, 12 homers, 70 RBI, 46 runs scored and six steals. Asencio is 2nd in the TL in lowest TPA/SO ratio (12.23), 3rd in RBI and 5th in AVG, hits and total bases (199). The 25-year-old outfielder leads the Missions in AB, hits, doubles, RBI and total bases. He's also 2nd in homers. Asencio, who was also a 2014 TL Post-Season All Star selection, is batting a league-leading .407 (37-for-91) during his 21 games in August.

Rea went 3-2 with a minuscule 1.08 ERA and an impressive K:BB ratio of 60:11 in his 12 starts (75 IP) with the Missions. At the time of his promotion on July 1, Rea was leading the TL in ERA, WHIP (0.81) and OPP AVG (.185). Though he was dominant throughout much of his time with San Antonio, Rea's signature performance occurred on May 2 vs. Midland when he earned his first Double-A win after allowing just one hit and one walk, while striking out a career-high 12 over a career-high eight shutout innings.

After making six starts for Triple-A El Paso, Rea was promoted to San Diego on August 11. Later that night at Petco Park, Rea was a winner in his Major League debut, limiting the Cincinnati Reds to just three runs on seven hits and one walk, while striking out four over five innings. In three starts for the Padres, Rea is 2-1 with a 5.52 ERA. Rea is scheduled to make his next start Saturday night at Philadelphia.

Also earning post-season honors is pitching coach Jimmy Jones, who was named the Mike Coolbaugh Texas League Coach of the Year. The Dallas, TX native is wrapping up his seventh season in the Padres' organization and his fifth straight with San Antonio. San Antonio pitching has allowed the fewest home runs (79) in the TL this season, in addition to tossing the third-most shutouts (11). Under Jones' tutelage in 2014, Mission pitching set a Texas League record with 1,156 strikeouts (breaking the old record held by the 2008 Missions). San Antonio hurlers also led the TL in ERA at 3.36. The Missions have led the league in ERA in three of the five years during the Jones era.

Jones becomes the first Mission to win the Coolbaugh honor, which has been awarded since 2007. Coolbaugh, a San Antonio native, was killed after being struck in the head by a line drive while coaching first base for the Tulsa Drillers in their game against the Arkansas Travelers in North Little Rock, AR on July 22, 2007.

San Antonio resumes its four-game series at Frisco tonight, with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 PM. The contest will be televised on Fox Sports Southwest.

The Missions return to Wolff Stadium on Tuesday, September 1 when they open up a season-ending seven-game homestand. Asencio and Jones will both be honored with their awards prior to Saturday night's contest vs. Corpus Christi (7:05 PM first pitch).
