December 3, 2013 - National Basketball League of Canada (NBL Canada)
Orangeville A's News Release
Brampton, ON. - The Brampton A's 5 game win streak is over as the Ottawa SkyHawks dealt them a conference loss 114-102.
The A's took an 11 point lead into the 4th quarter; this is when the wheels appeared to fall off. The SkyHawks scored on their first 7 possessions while the A's could only muster one bucket in their first 6.
The A's had 5 guys in double figures, led by Cedric Moodie, with 18 points, Evaldas Zabas had 15, Scottie Haralson & Melvin Council both had 14 points and Cavell Johnson added 11. The SkyHawks had 7 guys with double figures led by Ryan Anderson who had a game high 21 points and Fred Sturdivant had 16 points & 16 rebounds off the bench.
A's Head Coach David Magley summed it up like this, "we have had a good run but we have not been finishing well the past few games, and it finally caught up with us. Sometimes you have to go through a difficult period to be stretched & grow as a team. While not fun, it was probably needed, hats off to the SkyHawks for grinding out a heck of a 4th quarter."
These 2 teams meet again this coming Thursday, December 5, but this time in Ottawa at the Canadian Tire Centre @ 7:30PM.
The Brampton A's return home to the Powerade Centre to face the Moncton Miracles this Friday, December 6 @ 7:00PM.
