A's Lead with 8-2 Record After Road Trip out East

Saint John, NB. - The Brampton A's maintained their successful momentum by besting Atlantic Division Saint John Mill Rats 107-102 on Saturday, November 23.

The game was a homecoming of sorts for Cavell Johnson, Kevin Francis & Melvin Council, who all played in Saint John for the Mill Rats last season.

The A's led from start to finish, and at one point took a 21 point 4th quarter lead before going cold at the free throw line. Some hot shooting by the Mill Rats would ultimately shrink the margin of victory to just 5 points.

Brampton was led by Johnson's 24 points, Evaldas Zabas would add 20 points, Jameson Tipping had 18 points, 9 rebounds & 7 assists and Flenard Whitfield had another big game with 16 points & 14 rebounds.

The A's took their league leading 7-2 record into Charlottetown, PEI yesterday to play the Island Storm @ 1:00 PM EST.

Charlottetown, PEI. "" The Brampton A's beat the PEI Storm 101-100 on a last second 3 point shot by Cedric Moodie, Sunday, November 24. With a record of 8-2, the Brampton A's are currently in the top spot of the NBL Canada.

The victory came after a hard fought game that ended with two very big plays. Tied with 12 seconds to play, Al Stewart, of the Storm, stole the ball feeding Antonio Ballard for 2 of his game high 31 points, taking a 2-point lead for the Storm. With 4 seconds on the clock, the A's chose not to call a time out, as Moodie came down and drained a 3 point buzzer beater 5' behind the arc.

Cavell Johnson lead the A's with 21 points. Johnson is the first ever Brampton A's player to be honoured with the NBL Canada's "Player of the Week" award for his stellar performances in wins against Windsor, Ottawa and Saint John. Currently he is averaging 23 points and 8 rebounds per game.

Following Johnson, Moodie had 18 points, Flenard Whitfield added 15 points and 12 rebounds. Evaldas Zabas chipped in with 14 points and a season high 13 assists, while Melvin Council added 12 points.

The A's return to action at home this evening at 7:00 PM at the Powerade Centre, where they will take on the Windsor Express.
