LANCASTER, Calif. - JetHawks pitcher Rogelio Armenteros was named the California League's Pitcher of the Week for the week of July 4-10, the league announced on Monday.
Armenteros earned the victory in the JetHawks' 2-0 win at Inland Empire on Friday, July 8. The right-hander allowed just two hits over six scoreless innings. He struck out eight batters and walked three.
The performance pushed Armenteros' record to 5-2 and lowered his ERA to 2.67 over his 13 appearances (10 starts) with Lancaster this season.
The weekly award comes on the heels of Armenteros being named the JetHawks' Pitcher of the Month in June after he went 2-0 with a 1.48 ERA in five games (four starts). He struck out 30 batters and allowed just 18 hits over 24.1 innings pitched for the month.
Armenteros is the second JetHawk pitcher to be named the league's top pitcher during a week. Left-hander Matt Bower was also named Pitcher of the Week for the week of May 9-15.
Armenteros is scheduled to make his next start in Thursday's doubleheader against the San Jose Giants at The Hangar.
