Armed Forces Day Highlights Raptor Game

The United States Armed Forces takes center stage Saturday night at the "ROCK PILE" when the Rock River Raptors host the Lexington Horsemen for a 7:30 p.m. kick-off.

Lexington currently sits atop the Eastern Division of the UIF with a perfect 7-0 record while Rock River is 5-3.

The first 2,000 people through the gates at the MetroCentre will receive mini-American flags.

The Illinois Army National Guard Color Guard will present the colors and Sergeant First Class Lewis will sing the National Anthem At half-time, The National Guard will administer their oath to 50 people in a special ceremony.

RAPTOR NOTES

RAPTOR PARK will open at 5:30 p.m. and will remain open until game time. Great food such as Burgers, Brats, Hot Dogs and Chips will be available for purchase along with beer, soda and water. Music for Raptor Park will be provided by Timmy Middlefinger, a party rock band that plays a fresh selection of danceable rock remixes and new rock favorites.

Also at halftime of Saturday's game, the Raptors will honor the Dakota High School 2005 IHSA Class 2A state football championship team. The Indians finished the season with a perfect 14-0 record and defeated Aledo 20-15 in the title game at Memorial Stadium on the campus of the University of Illinois.
