The Armada won their fourth game on as many nights as they downed the Reno Silver Sox 8-5, improving to 4-1 on the homestand. Reno continues to be shaky defensively, committing five errors.

The Armada added another three runs in the second, thanks to an RBI double by John Kaplan, a wild pitch by Dustin Bergman, and a sacrifice fly by Larue.

Heaverlo struck out seven in his seven-inning, nine-hit performance. Marcel Vianna pitched the eighth and saw the Silver Sox inch closer. But a double play and a strikeout quickly stopped the bleeding for the Armada they still led 7-4.

Jeff Larue hit his second sacrifice fly of the game in the bottom half of the eighth to stretch the Armada lead to 8-4.

Closer Sean Buller gave up a run in the ninth, but found his control and struck out Cody Nowlin to hand Reno its tenth road loss.
