SOUTH DIVISION CHAMPIONS
The Renegades upset the Houston Roughnecks with a 26-11 win in the XFL South Division Championship Game on Saturday at TDECU Stadium in Houston. QB Luis Perez was the star of the game, completing 19 of 27 passes for 289 yards and 3 touchdowns. WR JaVonta Payton (5 rec., 121 yards, 2 TDs) and RB De'Veon Smith (24 carries, 94 yards) both compiled the highest single-game yardage totals for a Renegade at their position this season.
XFL CHAMPIONSHIP NEXT
The Renegades advance to face the D.C. Defenders in the XFL Championship Game on Saturday, May 13 at The Alamodome in San Antonio (7 p.m. CT on ABC). Tickets are on sale at XFL.com. It will mark the first time for a professional football team from DFW to play for a league championship since 1995-96, when the Dallas Cowboys defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XXX.
