Dallas Renegades News Release
Arlington, Texas - The Arlington Renegades today announced that defensive back Darren Evans has signed an NFL contract with the New York Giants.
Evans is the 31st XFL player to sign an NFL contract since the conclusion of the XFL season, and the second Arlington player to do so along with LB Willie Taylor (Jacksonville Jaguars).
Evans appeared in all 12 games during the Renegades' run to the 2023 XFL Championship, logging a season-high 5 tackles in the title game. The Baton Rouge, La. native played collegiately at Nicholls State (2017-19) and LSU (2020-21), and previously spent time with the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent in 2022.
The Arlington Renegades will retain Evans' rights should he return to the XFL.
