Arkansas RimRockers News Release

LITTLE ROCK, Ark., Dec. 5 - Brandon Dean scored 22 points and dished out a game-high 7 assists as the Arkansas RimRockers defeated the Austin Toros 108-92 at Alltel Arena.

The RimRockers used their third straight home victory, fourth overall, to improved to 5-2. The loss drops the Toros to 0-5, and remains the D-League's only winless team.

After the Toros tied the game at 2 minutes in, the RimRockers took control and never relinquished the lead. The Toros cut the lead to single digits several times throughout the game but Arkansas responded each time with a strong surge of their own.

"I'm happy we won," said RimRockers Head Coach Andy Stoglin. "But I don't like the way we finished. We got a lead and then we had a brain leak and went crazy. We played hard, but not smart."

BJ Elder did all he could to keep the game close for Austin with a game-high 31 points, but Dean was too much on both ends of the court with 3 steals and 3 blocks. Jamar Smith also contributed with 18 points and 2 rejections for the Toros.

"It was a good game for us," said RimRockers guard Brandon Dean. "We established home court and protected (home court). We had some small letdowns, but came through with the win."

Leading five RimRockers players in double digit scoring was Clay Tucker with 26 points to go along with his 7 boards, 6 assists, and 4 steals.

"Really good teams are able to turn 10 (point leads) into 15 and 20" Stoglin said. "We need to be one of them."

The RimRockers will host the Fort Worth Flyers on Friday, December 8th at 7:00 p.m. at the Jack Stephens Center on the campus of UALR. Austin will travel to Tulsa tomorrow in search of their first win of the season.
