Arkansas Aeros News Release

SPRINGDALE, Ark. - The Arkansas Aeros got production from nearly their entire roster Saturday night in a 146-114 victory over the Waco Wranglers in an American Basketball Association (ABA) contest at the All-Star Sports Arena in Springdale. The Aeros (2-0) had six players in double figures with Curtis Haywood leading the way with 40 to go with 9 rebounds and 8 assists. Former Arkansas Razorback Todd Day added 34 points on the strength of a 10 for 20 effort from behind the 3-point line. Day also had 5 steals and 6 blocks in the effort. "We had some spurts with some different groups that were able to make some plays to give us a lift," said Aeros coach Bob Hoffman. "We had 40 assists on 52 baskets. That means we had a lot of unselfish play. I'm happy to see the guys out there clicking with each other." The Aeros got big contests from Jarred Merrill (25 points, 15 rebounds) and Daryan Selvy (20 points, 12 rebounds). The Wranglers (0-1) were led by Reggie Griffin's 36 points. He was followed by David Stevens' 26. Up next for the Aeros is a home contest with St. Louis on Thursday followed by a home showdown with their sister team, the RiverCatz, in a 4:05 p.m. meeting at the All-Star Sports Arena.
