Arizona's Andrew Engelage Named Warrior/CHL Goaltender of the Month

GLENDALE, AZ (February 5, 2014) -The Central Hockey League announced today that Arizona's Andrew Engelage has been named the Warrior Central Hockey League Goaltender of the Month for January/2014. Engelage will receive a special gift, courtesy of Warrior and the Central Hockey League to recognize his accomplishment.

Engelage was near perfect in the month earning points in all 10 appearances with a 9-0-1 record. In the middle of the month, the Oshawa, Ontario native tied a CHL record with three straight shutouts that included the second longest scoreless minute streak in CHL history (222:27). In his 10 appearances, Engelage allowed just 16 goals stopping 304 shots.

The fifth year pro and first year Sundog has an 18-8-2 record with a league-best four shutouts. His 2.42 goals against average is second in the CHL and his .919 save percentage is the third best in the league.

Other goaltenders receiving consideration for the monthly award for January include Allen's Bryan Pitton and Mark Guggenberger, Denver's Kent Patterson, Quad City's Ty Rimmer, Tulsa's Shane Madolora and Wichita's David Brown.
