Arizona Rhinos add former NBA star to management

Phoenix, AZ. Aaron Schofield, CEO of the ABA Arizona Rhinos professional basketball team scheduled to begin play in Phoenix in November today named former NBA great Bernard Thompson as Director of Player Development and Asst. Coach. According to Schofield, "We want to be known as a team where players come to improve and Bernard can make that happen. Coach Fore and I are pround to call him a friend and partner in success."

Hopkins was an NBA 1st round pick in 1984 with the Portland Trailblazers, the 19th pick overall. In 1983, he represented the US in the World Games in Canada and picked up a Bronze Medal. He then competed successfully for 5 years in the NBA. He has coached with TBB TRIERER in Germany after playing abroad for ten years and was Head Coach of the University of California Santa Cruz for two years.

He added, "I really like to work with the guys and try to improve their skills so that they may get to the NBA or one of the top international teams, and of course, as a teacher/mentor, I'm excited about the Rhinos youth camps planned for this summer.
