Arizona Rattlers News Release
PHOENIX - Two players who had a significant impact with the Arizona Rattlers last season have re-signed with the Arena Football League team, head coach/general manager Gene Nudo announced today.
Fullback/linebacker Asi Faoa signed a one-year deal and offensive/defensive lineman Zach Rupp agreed to a two-year contract.
Faoa (6-4, 275 pounds) played in 12 games for the Rattlers last season, recording 14 and half tackles, two pass breakups and half of a sack. On offense, he rushed for 14 yards on four carries including one touchdown. He will be returning to the Rattlers for his second season after completing his first full year in the AFL.
"We know he is going to be a force to be reckoned with in this league," Nudo said. "He was a very valuable player especially towards the end of the year."
Rupp (6-5, 250) will be in his third season with Arizona after having his most productive year in his two-year career. He registered 15 and a half tackles and one sack in 12 games.
"For him to come in and become one of our consistent linemen was a real surprise this past season," Nudo said.
Rattler season tickets for 2007 campaign, which begins in January, are now on sale and can be purchased by calling 602-514-TDTD or online at www.azrattlers.com.
