
ArenaBowl XVI on Sirius Satellite Radio and Armed Forces Radio Network

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- ArenaBowl XVI, between the Arizona Rattlers (13-3) and the San Jose SaberCats (15-1), will be broadcast live on Sports Byline, Channel 123 on Sirius Satellite Radio, the Arena Football League announced today. The game will air on Sunday, August 18 at 3 p.m. ET / 12 p.m. PT live from the Compaq Center at San Jose.
"Sirius Radio will provide yet another cutting-edge medium to allow our fans to follow Arena Football through this live satellite-radio broadcast," said AFL Vice President of Broadcasting Marc Lowitz.
In addition, The Armed Forces Radio Network will once again broadcast the ArenaBowl to US servicemen and women in 177 countries around the world and 400 ships at sea. Larry Kahn (play-by-play), Artie Gigantino (color analyst) and Troy West (sideline reporter) will describe all the action.

Panasonic satellite radio products will be available in September 2002.
ABOUT ARENA FOOTBALL LEAGUE
The Arena Football League consists of 23 teams (16 active for 2002 season), including eight in the 10 largest U.S. media markets. An additional seven expansion teams have already been approved to begin to play over the next three years. The AFL and NBC Sports have reached a network broadcast agreement to begin February 2, 2003.
