
Arena Football League reaches 20 million fans

NEW YORK - The AFL's 20th Season celebration continued this past weekend when the league's cumulative total attendance surpassed 20 million fans.
The AFL's Week 14 attendance total of 108,244 catapulted the league's overall attendance numbers to 20,069,791. The first AFL game was played on February 26, 1987 in Pittsburgh when the hometown Gladiators defeated the Washington Commandos, 48-46, in front of 12,117 fans.
