Hampstead, NH, 05/23/05 -- The NH Phantoms lost their away game against Western Mass Pioneers 1:3 on Saturday night in the USL Second Division. The Phantoms still have not won a point away from home after four attempts. For the third time in a row the team lost by the same scoreline â 1:3. Despite the defeat the Phantoms had a good game and managed to make 16 shots at the Pioneers goal (against 19 for Western Mass). Ryan Ackerman scored the goal for the NH team from Mark Manganello assist, Neil Krause twice and Rigels Qosa netted for the winners. Dave Evans, Bjorn Hansen, and Tom McNeil were shown yellow cards for the Phantoms. The locals will have chance for revenge this Saturday, when they have a home game against Western Mass Pioneers at the Souhegan High School in Amherst (412 Boston Post Rd, Amherst, NH 03031).
The NH Lady Phantoms lost their second game in the USA W-League away at national power New Jersey Wildcats by 0:8. Christie Latham scored twice and made two assists for the hosts, who have an impressive seven players joining the United States Women's National Team Program training camp this week! The Lady Phantoms are at the bottom at the table with no points won so far, the Wildcats lead with 12 points from 4 games and striking goal difference of 18- 0. The Lady Phantoms return to action on June 4th when they entertain South Jersey Banshees at SNHU.
