Omaha Storm Chasers News Release

OMAHA, Neb. - The incredible chance of performing the National Anthem at Werner Park this spring and summer is once again up for grabs for local singers and musicians. In order to claim this opportunity, they must impress the celebrity judges on hand at the Oak View Mall on Saturday, February 9 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Entrants will be judged on several criteria including lyrical accuracy, voice quality, voice projection, pitch, presentation and overall performance quality. Each successful contestant will receive up to four complimentary tickets to the Storm Chasers game at which they will perform during the 2013 season.

"We're excited to partner again with the Oak View Mall for our annual National Anthem Tryout," said Andrea Stava, Community Relations Director for the Storm Chasers. "Each year it is amazing to see such talented contestants audition for this once in a lifetime opportunity."

In order to perform at the tryout, interested individuals and groups must pre-register by contacting Stava at (402) 738-5115 or by filling out the 2013 Omaha Storm Chasers National Anthem Registration form online at www.omahastormchasers.com under the "Community" tab. Each pre-registered contestant will be contacted with the time of their performance.

During last year's National Anthem Tryout, more than 200 individuals and groups competed for the 72 spots available throughout the Storm Chasers season. Nine celebrity judges from the Omaha Metro will make up the panel deciding who will entertain fans at the start of each home game.

The Oak View Mall is located near the intersection of 144th and Center streets in west Omaha. Performances will be held near the Food Court.

The first chance to hear one of the winners of this annual competition will be the 2013 home opener at Werner Park on Friday, April 12 at 7:05 p.m. when the Chasers take on the Nashville Sounds.
