
Angel City Football Club Announces Roster Moves

LOS ANGELES, CA. - Today, Angel City Football Club (ACFC) announced the current status of the team roster leading into the waiver period and upcoming trade window.
Angel City FC's current roster features the following players (in alphabetical order by last name):
Goalkeepers: DiDi Haračić, Brittany Isenhour
Defenders: Sarah Gorden, Madison Hammond, Paige Nielsen, Megan Reid, Ali Riley, Jasmyne Spencer, Allyson Swaby, M.A. Vignola
Midfielders: Clarisse Le Bihan (INTL-FRA), Savannah McCaskill, Lily Nabet, Cari Roccaro, Dani Weatherholt
Forwards: Simone Charley, Claire Emslie, Jun Endo (INTL-JPN), Sydney Leroux, Tyler Lussi, Christen Press
The roster features 2022 ironwoman Megan Reid, who played every match and every minute of ACFC's inaugural season; a mid-season trade addition in Sydney Leroux; Claire Emslie, whose rights ACFC picked up in the expansion draft; and marks the return of Sarah Gorden to the active roster after suffering a season-ending injury during the 2022 preseason. Internationals Jun Endo and Clarisse Le Bihan are also set to return to the roster.
"All of our Angel City players are exceptional and will always be able to hold the badge of being a part of this organization and making history together," said Angel City General Manager Angela Hucles Mangano. "As we head into our sophomore season, we are excited by the opportunity that's in front of us, and the challenge of new goals to meet."
The contracts for rookies Hope Breslin and Miri Taylor, as well as international recruits Almuth Schult and Steffany Ferrer Van Ginkel, have not been renewed. In addition, Katie Cousins' contract has been waived.
In addition, Goalkeeper Maia Pérez has opted to retire from soccer and will not return to the club next season.
Vanessa Gilles plans to rejoin the club once she has completed her time on loan with Lyon.
The 2023 NWSL draft is set for January 12, 2023 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia.
