Maryland NightHawks News Release
Rockville, MD -Maryland Nighthawks forward Andrew "Spongebob" Washington was named PBL Player of the Week.
Washington, a 2006-2007 All-Star, received Player of the Week honors as he averaged 27.7 ppg, 5.7 rpg, and 3.4 spg in three games this week.
"Andrew is certainly deserving of this honor as he had a remarkable week for our team," said Nighthawks Manager Adam Dantus. "He stepped in and has become an elite player in this league and that's a tribute to his hard work, dedication and the fact that he puts the team above everything else."
Washington helped the Nighthawks to a 2-1 week, which included wins over the Dallas Defenders and Wilmington Sea Dawgs. He scored 32 points in Saturday's 123-116 victory against Wilmington and led the Nighthawks in scoring all three games last week.
