Anderson to High Desert, Colvin Retires

PENSACOLA, FLA. - The Seattle Mariners have announced the following roster moves that affect the Generals roster. RHP David Colvin reinstated from the disabled and has been placed on the voluntary retired list and RHP Matt Anderson has been also reinstated from the disabled list and transferred to Hi-A High Desert. The moves are made prior to tonight's game three of the series with Pensacola at Bayfront Stadium AT 6:30 CT. Jackson's roster currently stands at 24 active players, 12 pitchers and 12 position players.

Colvin, 24, last pitched on July 25th at home against Huntsville. In 19 relief appearances Colvin was 0-1, with a 3.10 ERA (10ER/29.0IP), with 6 walks and 26 strikeouts. Colvin has held opposition to a .217 batting average this season. Colvin was the Mariners' 27th round draft choice out of Pomona-Pitzer College (CA) in 2011.

Anderson, 22, has been reinstated disabled list and transferred to Hi-A High Desert. Anderson left his start on July 26th after the first inning with back spasms. In 13 starts for the Generals, Anderson is 3-5, with a 5.16 ERA (33ER/66.1IP). He has struck out 45 and walked 14, with opponents' batting .297 against the native of Claremont, CA. Combined this season, Anderson is 6-7, with a 5.18 ERA (57ER/99.0IP) in 20 starts between High Desert and Jackson. He was signed by Seattle as a non-drafted free agent in 2012.
