Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud member of the International Hockey League, announce the recipients of the 2008-09 Player Awards.
The awards were presented following the K-Wings home game tonight versus the Fort Wayne Komets at Wings Stadium.
The following were the awards and the recipients of the K-Wings Awards Ceremony:
Booster Club Appreciation Award: Bryan Jurynec
KOHA Plus-Minus Award: Mark Nebus
Otten Trophies Star of the Game Award: Rick Cleaver
McDonald's Leading Scorer Award: Glenn Detulleo
Meijer Most Improved Player Award: Mark Nebus
Pepsi Sportsmanship Award: Anthony Battaglia
Kalsee Credit Union Unsung Hero Award: Bryan Jurynec
Fifth Third Bank Defenseman of the Year Award: Jordan Little
Centennial Wireless Rookie of the Year Award: Rick Cleaver
WLKM Most Popular Player Award: Tyler Willis
Kalamazoo Gazette MVP Award: Glenn Detulleo
Statistical awards were decided by the player stats at the end of the regular season, while all other awards were decided by fan voting.
Playoff strips for the upcoming Turner Cup Playoff's are currently on sale at the Wings Stadium Ticket Office.
