Rochester Americans News Release
(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans announced today a partnership with the United States Marine Corps for the Tuesday, November 10th game at The Blue Cross Arena at the Rochester War Memorial. That night, the Amerks are offering a buy one, get one ticket special to all active military members and veterans. The 7:05 p.m. game features the first-place Amerks against the rival Hamilton Bulldogs.
"With Veteran's Day fast approaching, we are pleased to offer members of our military, both past and present, a special ticket promotion for our game on November 10th," said Amerks President Lewis Staats. "Playing out of the War Memorial Arena makes us think about the daily sacrifices our military makes to allow us the freedom to come and enjoy a hockey game and this ticket promotion is a small token of our continuing appreciation."
"On November 10th, the Marine Corps will celebrate our 234th birthday. I cannot think of a better way to honor the veterans that have paved the way for our country, and celebrate our birthday, then to do it with our local Rochester Americans fans. We greatly appreciate the honor," said USMC Staff Sergeant Thomas Rauchfuss.
The buy one, get one offer is good for any seating area and can be purchased at The Blue Cross Arena Box Office with the presentation of a Military ID, VA Card or an American Legion or VFW membership card. For more details call the office at (585) 454-5335.
In honor of Veteran's Day (November 11th), the Amerks will have a United States Marine Corps Color Guard present the colors for the singing of the American National anthem. Additionally, the Marines will have a table setup in the upper atrium lobby where fans can pick up information and promotional items. Fans can also watch a video during the game of The Amerks Moose completing training exercises with members of the Marine Corps.
