Amerks Assign Matt Duffy To Florida Everblades

(Rochester, NY)... Rochester Americans Vice President of Hockey Operations Ted Nolan announced today that the team has reassigned defenseman Matt Duffy to the Florida Everblades of the ECHL.

Duffy, 24, heads to the ECHL after spending the last week with Rochester. In nine American Hockey League games with the Amerks this season, the Windham, Maine, native has scored one goal and three assists for four points. With the Everblades, the 6-foot-2, 201-pound blueliner has eight points (3+5) and 37 penalty minutes in 29 appearances. In 49 combined professional games with Florida (ECHL) and Rochester, Duffy has registered 18 points (6+12) and 41 penalty minutes.

Prior to turning pro, Duffy played four seasons at the University of Maine, collecting 26 points (14+12) and 100 penalty minutes in 96 games for the Black Bears. He was the Florida Panthers' fourth-round selection (104thoverall) in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.

Rochester returns home on Friday, February 5th as the Hamilton Bulldogs make their way across the border for the eighth of 10 get-togethers between the two teams. Faceoff is slated for 7:05 p.m. at The Blue Cross Arena. Fans can tune into the live broadcast on SportsRadio 1280 WHTK and FM 107.3, Rochester's Sports Talk. The game will also be televised live on Time Warner Cable SportsNet Channel 26.
