Americans Take Game Four and 3-1 Series Lead
(Allen, TX) - Despite a hat trick from Jeff Pierce, the Odessa Jackalopes lost to the Allen Americans on Friday night at the Allen Event Center by a 6-4 final. Allen now leads the Southern Conference Finals, 3-1, in the best-of-seven series. The Jackalopes are one loss away from being eliminated from the playoffs.
The Americans jumped out to a first period lead for the second straight game, scoring three goals from Nino Musitelli, Jarret Lukin, and Colton Yellow Horn. Odessa eventually found the scoresheet on a power play goal from Jeff Pierce at 18:30 to cap the period's scoring.
The two teams combined for six goals in the second period as the offense continued to roll in the game. Justin Bowers, Lukin, and Ryan Fairbarn each scored for Allen. Pierce added two more goals to give him the hat trick, and Kory Karlander scored on a penalty shot at 17:14 for Odessa. Allen held the 6-4 advantage after forty minutes of play.
Neither team scored in the third period.
Game five will take place Saturday in Allen at 7:30 PM. The action can be heard on Classic Rock 102.1 FM. One more loss for Odessa and they will be eliminated from the 2010 Ray Miron President's Cup Playoffs.
