Allen Americans News Release
Allen, Texas - The ECHL Kelly Cup Champion Allen Americans announced today that the club has signed defenseman, Nolan Descoteaux for the 2015-2016 season.
The Dallas native played in 58 games last year with the Americans, scoring 16 points and was a plus 15 for the season. Descoteaux has 69 pro games under his belt, with both Allen and Gwinnett. He played his college hockey under Wayne Wilson at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), in Rochester, New York. His best numbers came in his senior year, when he tallied 18 points in 36 games.
"Last year was a unique situation that most first year players don't get a chance to be a part of," said Descoteaux. "Winning a championship and playing at home in front of family and friends was surreal. So when given the opportunity to return, it was an easy decision. The staff and players made last year special and I'm excited to return and work towards that goal again. This off-season has all been about working hard to play a larger role and help the team bring home another championship to Allen."
The defending Kelly Cup Champions have announced three players so far this off-season with Chad Costello, Riley Gill and Kevin Young all returning to defend their title.
The Americans open the 2015-2016 regular season on Friday, October 16th against the Quad City Mallards at Allen Event Center. Season Tickets are on sale NOW at www.ticketmaster.com or call 972-912-1000.
