Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans of the Central Hockey League announced on Monday that Bill McDonald will rejoin the club as Senior Advisor of Hockey Operations.

"Bill McDonald will be a big part of what we want to build here," said Americans Executive Partner Mike Modano.

Bill McDonald joined the Allen Americans franchise in 2009-2010 serving as an Associate Coach on the bench. McDonald was instrumental in recruiting talent to Allen over the past three years, bringing in such players as Bruce Graham, Jarret Lukin and Nino Musitelli.

"I've known Bill McDonald for a long time," said Americans Executive partner Craig Ludwig. "His eye for young talent will be a big asset in building this year's Allen Americans club."

McDonald spent several years in the Dallas Stars organization, including coaching players like Brendan Morrow and Marty Turco, while at the AAA level, in Kalamazoo.

"We are excited that Bill McDonald has accepted this position," said Americans President Matt Canavan. "'Macker' is such a great evaluator of talent and so well respected in the hockey world. We are excited to have him back in an advisory role."

Meanwhile, the search continues for the next Allen Americans Head Coach and GM. The Americans Executive Committee, lead by Mike Modano, Ed Belfour, Steve Duchesne, Richard Matvichuk and Craig Ludwig, have interviewed several candidates this week. The team plans on narrowing the list down to a few names over the next couple weeks
