Allen Americans News Release
ALLEN, TX - June 9, 2009 - The Allen Americans of the Central Hockey League (CHL) announced the signing of forward Bill Loupée today.
"Billy is an exciting player to watch. He brings a lot of speed and quickness," Americans Head Coach and General Manager Dwight Mullins said Tuesday.
Loupée is known for his strong skating ability and has a knack for creating scoring opportuni- ties. He can play wing or center, making him a flexible asset to the club.
The Michigan native, a recent graduate of Miami University in Ohio, was part of the school's first trip to the Frozen Four, which occurred last season. The RedHawks emerged as national runners-up after falling to Boston University in the National Championship game.
The 24-year-old stands at 5-10 and weighs 183 pounds. He played two seasons in the United States Hockey League before attend- ing Miami University.
"We feel very fortunate to be able to add him to our team," Mullins said.
Loupée is the fourth addition to the Ameri- cans. The club signed centers Jarret Lukin, Justin Bowers and Chris Gaudet last week.
The Americans begin play this fall in the newly built Allen Event Center. Season tickets are on sale now, and corporate partnerships are also available.
