El Paso 6, Coastal Bend 5 (Game 1 - Completion of suspended game from 7/30)

El Paso was able to hold of a late Coastal Bend rally to edge the Diablos by a run to improve to 21-16 in the second half. No El Paso player managed to record more than one hit and only three of their six runs were earned. Coastal Bend 2B/SS Jaime Landin had a big night at the plate though, going 3-for-4 with three runs scored and an RBI. After Coastal Bend scored three times in the fifth inning to take a 3-2 lead, the Diablos scored three runs of their own in the bottom half of the inning and would never trail from that point.

St. Joe edged North Division leader Lincoln by a run to improve to 47-40 on the season to remain a 1/2 game behind St. Paul in the North Division Wild Card race. Blacksnakes starter Shingo Mitsumori allowed a home run to Saltdogs 1B Brett Cooley and little else, allowing eight hits while striking out three in seven innings to improve to 3-4 on the season. Closer Jamie Tricoglou picked up his 18th save thanks to a perfect ninth. RF Wil Quintana led the Blacksnakes at the plate going 1-for-4, including his league-leading 19th home run.

Shreveport 15, Pensacola 6

Shreveport pounded out 22 hits en route to scoring 15 runs to improve to 22-15 in the second half. SS Enohel Polanco led the way, going 5-for-6 with four runs scored and an RBI. LF Todd Self hiti his sixth home run of the year in a 4-for-6 effort in which he scored twice and drove in four runs. Pensacola got home runs from 3B Trino Aguilar and 1B Tim Dorn who combined to go 4-for-10 with four RBIs.

Fort Worth 3, Sioux City 2 (12 innings)

Fort Worth held on late to improve to 26-13 in the second half with a 3-2, 12 inning victory over Sioux City. The Cats overcame a good start by Explorers starting pitcher Billy Keppinger who allowed just one earned run on five hits while striking out four in eight innings of work, but did not factor in the decision. DH Kris Zacuto led Fort Worth at the plate, going 2-for-5, including his fourth home run of the season, with a run scored and two RBIs. The victory for the Cats keeps them three games ahead of Shreveport for first place in the South Division.
