St. Joe RF Wil Quintana hit his league leading ninth home run and was 2-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBIs to lead the Blacksnakes' offense. CF Scooter Jordan and 1B Mark Burke joined Quintana with two hits and combined to drive in three. Shreveport managed one run, in the first inning, off of St. Joe pitching led by starter Jesen Merle. Merle allowed the one run, earned, on three hits through five innings to improve his record to 2-1 on the season. Shreveport starter Ryan Snyder saw his record fall to 2-2 after allowing two runs, both earned, on six hits through four innings of work. Sports SS Enohel Polanco was 2-for-4 with two singles to lead the Shreveport offense in the losing effort.

St. Paul 2, Sioux City 1 (Game 1)

The Saints plated two runs in the top of the first inning and wouldn't manage another run off Sioux City starting pitcher Billy Keppinger, who pitched well, but two would prove to be enough as they hung on for their 20th win of the year. St. Paul starter Anthony Boughner allowed an earned run on two hits and struck out four through 5.1 innings to notch his fourth win of the year. Keppinger pitched the full seven innings, allowing two runs, both earned, on five hits. St. Paul 1B Brian Becker and LF Brian Sprout both hit doubles in the game and had the Saints' only two RBIs.

Sioux City 4, St. Paul 3 (Game 2)

Having trailed the entire game, Sioux City put together a four-run rally in the last of the sixth inning to come out on top of St. Paul in the second game of their doubleheader, edging them by one and salvaging a split. Explorers 1B Alex Llanos and LF Kevin Henry each hit home runs for Sioux City. Llanos finished the game 2-for-3 and Henry was 1-for-2 with three RBIs. Explorers 3B Ryan Gripp was a perfect 3-for-3 with a run scored on the day to lead the offense in the win. St. Paul DH Josh Renick was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and 3B Victor Rodriguez was 3-for-4 with two RBIs to lead the Saints at the plate in the loss.

Fort Worth 5, Pensacola 2 (7 innings)

Fort Worth rallied to score two in the sixth inning and two more in the seventh to take a 5-2 lead on Pensacola and then the rains came which forced the game to be called after seven. Cats starter Dan Grybash went six innings allowing an earned run on five hits and struck out four to earn his second win of the season while Pensacola starter Ben Walker saw his record fall to 1-1 after suffering the loss. Walker allowed three runs, two earned, on four hits and struck out three through 5.2 innings and did not walk a batter. 2B/LF Ed Montague and 1B Larry Bethea were the only two players to record more than one hit in the game. They each had two.

Lincoln 5, Sioux Falls 1 (Game 1)

Lincoln starting pitcher Lindsay Gulin was already among the league leaders in pitching when the game began and did plenty to improve that with a complete game win in game one of the Saltdogs' doubleheader against Sioux Falls. The win for Gulin was his sixth of the season giving him the most in the American Association. He allowed an earned run on five hits and struck out nine through seven innings, improving on an already impressive 1.76 earned run average. Lincoln RF Bryan Warner homered for the third time this year and finished the game 1-for-3. Sioux Falls 1B Abner Arroyo continued to swing a hot bat for the Canaries, going 2-for-2 with his sixth home run in the losing effort.
