W: Mal Winters (1-1), L: Lavelle Morgan (1-1), S: NONE
HR: CB-Jeff Ontiveros (3)
Shreveport starting pitcher Mal Winters threw seven shutout innings and struck out six en route to his first win of the season. As a team, the Sports combined for 13 hits and had five players record multi-hit games. Shreveport carried a 1-0 lead into the fifth inning when 1B Justin Humphries hit a triple with runners on first and second to widen the lead. The next batter, SS Enohel Polanco, singled to center to drive in Humphries and put the Sports up 4-0, which proved to be all they needed. C Jeff Ontiveros hit his third home run of the season and was 3-for-4 with a run scored and three RBIs for Coastal Bend in the losing effort.

Pensacola 10, Fort Worth 0
@ Fort Worth, TX. Time: 3:16 Attendance: 2,824
W: Clint Sodowski (2-1), Justin Garcia L: (0-1), S: Tony Pierce (2)
HR: NONE
Contrary to what the score might suggest, this game was marked by great pitching from both sides for the majority of the contest. Pelicans' starter Clint Sodowski allowed just five hits through 7.2 innings of work and only walked two while striking out seven, earning his second win of the year. For Fort Worth, Dan Grybash went 6.2 innings and gave up six hits and struck out six, but was stuck with a no-decision. The game remained scoreless until Pensacola manufactured a single run in the eighth, giving them a slim lead. But in the ninth the flood gates opened to the tune of nine runs for the Pelicans. LF Ed Montague was 4-for-4 at the plate for Pensacola with two runs scored in the win.

Lincoln 3, St. Joe 2
@ St. Joseph, MO. Time: 3:50 Attendance: 971
W: Kyle Ruwe (1-0), L: Matt Johnson (0-2), S: Jerrod Fuell (5)
HR: NONE
Lincoln starting pitcher Jerrod Blitstein went eight strong innings allowing two runs on six hits and struck out five to keep the Saltdogs close in the latter stages of the game. Trailing 2-0, Lincoln got two runners on via the walk and SS Ryan Priddy executed a sacrifice bunt to move them both into scoring position. After another walk loaded the bases, the two both scored on a throwing error, allowing the Saltdogs to tie the game without the ball ever leaving the infield. The game remained knotted at two until the 11th when Lincoln was able to push another run home to take the extra-inning victory.

Sioux Falls 12, Sioux City 11
@ Sioux Falls, IA. Time: 3:30 Attendance: 2,343
W: Jason Cierlik (2-0), L: John Howerton (3-1), S: John Wesley (3)
HR: SC-Ryan Gripp (2); SF-Dennis Anderson (1), Kyle Kmiecik (1)
Sioux City starting pitcher Trevor Marcotte pitched 6.1 innings, allowing seven hits and three runs while striking out four and surely looked to pick up the win when he handed the ball over to the bullpen with an 11-2 lead. But Sioux Falls stormed back with eight runs in the seventh and two more in the eighth to pull a stunning upset and leave with an unlikely win. C Dennis Anerson and 2B Kyle Kmiecik both hit their first home run of the year for Sioux Falls in the come-from-behind win, and LF Abner Arroyo was 3-for-4 with a run scored to lead the offense.
