Shreveport-Bossier 6, Pensacola 2

1B Christopher Garcia had a three-hit night as the Captains took the first game of the 2010 South Division Championship Series 6-2. Starting pitcher Richard Salazar went 5.2 strong innings, striking out four to pick up the victory. DH Palmer Karr, Jr. had a two-run double early and LF Robert Perry added a two-run home run in the top of the ninth to give the Captains a pair of insurance runs. CF Francisco Leandro hit a sacrifice fly and 2B Dallas Christison added an RBI double to account for Pensacola's scoring. Game 2 is Wednesday, September 1 at 6:45 PM CST as Shreveport-Bossier's Osvaldo Rodriguez faces Pensacola's Jared Gothreaux.

Sioux Falls 2, Lincoln 1

With the game scoreless through five innings, Lincoln got on the board first on SS Albenis Machado's solo home run, but ultimately fell to Sioux Falls 2-1. The Pheasants got one back in the seventh on three walks and a sacrifice fly, and grabbed the go-ahead run on 2010 Player of the Year Beau Torbert's eighth-inning blast. Righty Aaron Cotter picked up the save in the Sioux Falls win. The starting pitching was the story as Sioux Falls' Ben Moore and Lincoln's Jim Paduch were locked in the pitcher's duel, with Moore striking out ten against Daduch's eight. The two teams meet again Wednesday, September 1 at 7:05 PM CST as Lincoln's John James faces off against Sioux Falls' Chris Salberg.
