Sioux City 5, Wichita 0 (Game 1 - 7 innings)

Three Sioux City pitchers combined to allow just one walk and six hits in a combined shutout against Wichita. Explorers starting pitcher Ty Marotz allowed five hits over three innings and earned the win, his fourth of the season. Sioux City C Ray Serrano led the way at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a RBI. Explorers RF Jon Owings was 1-for-4 with a solo home run in the winning effort and 1B Kent Sakamoto was 1-for-3 with a run scored and two RBI.

Wichita 6, Sioux City 3 (Game 2)

Wichita rebounded from a loss in the opener of a doubleheader to double up Sioux City in game two, salvaging a split. The Wingnuts tallied 14 hits in the game, led by LF Steve Pearson, who was 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles and two runs scored. Wichita CF Eric Williams also had a good game at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs scored and a RBI. Wingnuts reliever Brandon Mathes struck out three in two innings to earn his first win.

Fort Worth 4, Pensacola 0

The Fort Worth pitching staff combined to throw a four-hit shutout against Pensacola, coming away with a 4-0 win. Starting pitcher Tim Bittner allowed one hit over five shutout innings two earn his second win. Fort Worth RF Stantrel Smith led the way at the plate, going 1-for-3 with a double and two RBI. LF Jeremy Sauceda also had a productive game offensively, going 1-for-4 with a double and two RBI.

Sioux Falls 12, St. Paul 3

Sioux Falls scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning and never looked back on the way to an easy 12-3 win. Pheasants RF Beau Torbert was the star offensively. He finished a double short of the cycle and was 4-for-4 with two runs scored and six RBI. 1B Brandon Sing also homered for Sioux Falls and finished 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI. Pheasants starting pitcher Ryan Rodriguez was the beneficiary of the run support. He allowed two earned runs on eight hits in seven innings to earn his fourth win.

Shreveport-Bossier 10, Grand Prairie 6

The Shreveport-Bossier offense jumped all over Grand Prairie, with SS Brian Frichter leading the way to a 10-6 win. Frichter was 2-for-4 with a double, a triple a run scored and two RBI. In all, five different hitters recorded multi-hit games for the Captains. Shreveport-Bossier starting pitcher Justin Young earned the win. Grand Prairie 1B Juan Camacho was 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles, a run scored and two RBI in the losing effort.

El Paso 8, Lincoln 7 (Top 7)
