Errors played a big role in Lincoln's 3-2 victory over the Canaries Friday. Leading 2-1 in the top of the eighth inning, the Saltdogs allowed Sioux Falls LF Ben Van Iderstine to advance to third on an error by Lincoln 3B Jay Yaconetti. Van Iderstine later scored an unearned run to tie the game. The tie lasted into the bottom of the ninth inning, when Canaries reliever Kelly Casares faced a bases-loaded jam with only one out. Casares got Lincoln RF Bryan Warner to hit a groundball to Sioux Falls 2B Cameron Coughlan, but Coughlan made an errant throw that allowed Saltdogs CF Corey Harrington to score from third and end the game. Harrington and Saltdogs SS Tony Garcia led the way offensively for Lincoln, each going 2-for-4 with a run scored.

Sioux City 3, St. Joe 0

Sioux City starting pitcher Brad Guy pitched a nearly flawless complete-game shutout Friday night, allowing only five hits and a walk with eight strikeouts. The Explorers used solo home runs in each of the first two innings to give Guy an early 2-0 lead to work with. Sioux City 1B Jake Daubert blasted his seventh of the season in the first, with RF Pete Pirman picking up his third in the second. On the night, Pirman went 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI. With the win, Sioux City has won eight games in a row and continues to sit atop the North Division standings at 8-2.

Fort Worth 6, El Paso 1

Cats starting pitcher Joel Kirsten pitched his second complete game of the season, earning a 6-1 victory over the Diablos. In the game, Kirsten allowed one run on five hits with no walks and four strikeouts. Kirsten took a shutout into the sixth inning, when he allowed a run-scoring double by Diablos CF Korey Drew that cut the Cats lead to five runs. Offensively the Cats got contributions from all over, as seven different batters picked up hits on the night. Leading the way was RF Carlos Adolfo, who went 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI.

Pensacola 3, Coastal Bend 1

Coastal Bend took advantage of control problems from starting Pelicans pitcher Logan Williamson to take a 1-0 lead in the third inning. But that lead would not hold up, as the Pelicans scored three runs over the next two innings to take a two-run lead. Williamson regained control and got his second win of the season, pitching 8.2 innings and allowing one run on six hits with six walks and five strikeouts. Pelicans SS Ricardo Cordova had a game-high three hits to lead the way offensively. Aviators RF Matt Spencer went 3-for-4 in the losing effort.

St. Paul 4, Shreveport 2

Three St. Paul pitchers combined to pitch a four-hitter Friday, with reliever Jon Huizinga getting his third win of the season. Huizinga pitched one shutout inning in which he allowed one hit. The Saints entered the top of the ninth inning tied at 2-2, but used three hits to score two runs in the frame to take a two-run lead. Saints closer Tony Pierce finished off the Sports in the bottom of the inning to pick up his sixth save of the season. St. Paul OF Scooter Jordan hit his second home run of the season in the Saints' victory.
