The Sioux Falls Canaries score four runs in the fourth inning and hold on for a two-run victory over the Blacksnakes in game one of the doubleheader. 3B Matt Imwalle was a perfect 3-for-3 with a run scored and a RBI to lead the Canaries at the plate. Sioux Falls RF Wil Quintana also chipped with two hits in three at-bats and two runs scored. Canaries' starter Jeff Landing went 5 1/3 innings allowing two earned runs on five hits with five strikeouts to notch his second win of the season. Jerrod Fuell gave up a solo home run to Blacksnakes RF Curt Miaso in the seventh inning but settled down to pickup his fourth save of the season.

Sioux Falls 2, St. Joe 0 (Game 2 - 11 Innings)

Canaries 2B Trevor Lawhorn hit a two-run home run in the 11th inning to help Sioux Falls past St. Joe and complete the doubleheader sweep. Sioux Falls CF James Shanks had a 3-for-4 evening and scored a run on the Lawhorn dinger. Reliever Lenny Bays for the Canaries pitched four shutout innings allowing only one hit to pickup the win. For the Blacksnakes in the losing effort, SS Chad Sosebee went 2-for-4. With the doubleheader sweep and the St. Paul loss, Sioux Falls takes over first place in the North Division with a 6-1 record.

Coastal Bend 4, Pensacola 1

RF Juan Figueroa's two-run home run in the first inning and starter Derrick Van Dusen's terrific pitching was all Coastal Bend would need in defeating Pensacola tonight. Van Dusen was sensational as he pitched seven solid innings giving up only an earned run on three hits with one walk and 10 strikeouts. Tim Haines hurled a perfect eighth and Matt Wilkinson pitched a scoreless ninth to pick up his first save of the season and finish off the Pelicans. Pensacola RF JD Reininger went 1-for-3 and scored their only run.

Sioux City 7, St. Paul 1

Sioux City scored five runs in the first three innings of the game and cruised to a six-run win over St. Paul. 1B Julian Benavidez and RF Pete Pirman went a combined 5-for-9 with two runs scored and a RBI. Explorers' starter Rafael Gross was tossing a no hitter through five innings before Saints LF Adam Bourassa led off the sixth with a single. Gross ended up going 6 1/3 innings allowing only one hit and striking four to even his record at 1-1. RF Brent Krause scored St. Paul's only run in the eighth.

The game was postponed due to rain. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Friday, June 29. Both games will consist of seven innings.

The game has been cancelled due to rain. Since the two teams don't play again this season, the game will not be rescheduled.
