Lincoln starting pitcher Lindsay Gulin continued to prove why he is the top pitcher in the American Association with another dominating performance to pick up his eighth win, which ties him for the most in the league this season. Gulin allowed one earned run on five hits through seven innings of work and struck out five without allowing a walk to improve to 8-1. He got more than enough support from his offense, led by DH Brett Cooley who was 2-for-4, including his sixth home run of the year, with a run scored and three runs batted in. Sioux City C Chris Grossman was 1-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI in the losing effort.

Coastal Bend 8, Pensacola 4

Coastal Bend continued to keep distance between itself and the rest of the South Division with the team's 12th win of the second half. Starting pitcher Bryan Heaston scattered 10 hits through six innings and allowed three runs, all earned to pick up the win, his fifth of the season. The Aviators' offense got a boost from C Stephen Morales who was 2-for-3, including his fifth home run, with a run scored and three runs batted in. SS Jack Joffrion chipped in with a 1-for-4 night, including his first homer of the season, with a run scored and two driven in. Pensacola SS Carlos Mendoza had a good night in the loss. He was 3-for-4 with a run batted in.

Shreveport 10, Sioux Falls 2

Shreveport got a strong performance from starting pitcher T.J. Hendricks, who allowed just two runs, both earned, on seven hits and struck out three through eight innings to record the win and improve his record to 5-2 on the year. RF Austin Easley and 3B Melvin Falu had big nights at the plate for the Sports. Easley was 3-for-3 with two doubles and three runs scored and Falu was 3-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and three runs batted in. LF Todd Self was 2-for-5 with four RBIs as well. For Sioux Falls, CF Anthony Monegan and LF Chad Hermansen each had two hits to lead the team in the losing effort.

St. Paul got a solid start from pitcher Justin Lord, who allowed three runs, all earned on eight hits through seven innings to help lift St. Paul to its ninth win of the year and into sole possession of first place in the North Division. The victory is the eighth of the season for Lord, tying him among the league leaders for most wins in the American Association this season. RF Wil Quintana had a big night for St. Joe in the losing effort. He was 2-for-4 with two solo home runs, giving him 15 on the season, the most in the American Association.
