CF Anthony Monegan went 3-for-5 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI to lead the Canaries to victory over the Blacksnakes. St. Joe would take a 1-0 lead in the first inning thanks to a bases loaded walk to DH Mark Burke. However, Sioux Falls would score two runs in the third inning and four more runs in the fourth inning to take a 6-1 and cruise from there. Doug Johnson notched his fourth victory of the season going 6 1/3 innings allowing two runs, all earned, on four hits with three strikeouts. 3B Ben Thomas was 3-for-5 with a run scored to lead the Blacksnakes.

The Saints' offense came alive in the seventh inning to garner three runs in support of starting pitcher Mike Meyer carrying him to his sixth win of the year and St. Paul to their fifth of the second half. Meyer allowed two runs, both earned on seven hits through 7.1 innings of work. Matt Hammons came on to pitch a scoreless ninth, striking out one and allowing one hit, to pick up his 15th save, which leads the American Association. LF/SS Brian Sprout hit his seventh home run of the season and finished the game 1-for-4 with three RBIs to lead the Saints' offense in the win.

Coastal Bend 1, Shreveport 0

Six pitchers combined to allow just one run on 10 hits as Coastal Bend starter Jose Lopez outlasted Josh Neitz of Shreveport to notch his first win of the year. Lopez didn't allow a run on three hits through seven innings. He struck out eight and issued just one free pass en route to the victory. Shreveport SS Enohel Polanco was the only player in the game to record more than one hit. He was 2-for-4 in the losing effort. The win for the Aviators is their eighth of the second half, giving them a firm position atop the South Division at this point. 1B Bryon Smith drove in the only run of the game with a sacrifice fly in the seventh inning that scored LF Brian Fryer.

Sioux City fought back from an early two-run deficit to outlast Lincoln in 10 innings to win by a run. Reliever John Howerton needed just one inning of work to notch his sixth win of the season and closer Sean Kramer sealed the victory for the Explorers with his 10th save. DH Ryan Gripp was 2-for-4 with three RBIs for Sioux City, including his eighth home run of the season. RF Bryan Warner led the way for Lincoln in the losing effort. He was 1-for-5 with two RBIs, including his sixth home run.
