In a pitcher's duel from start to finish, the Pensacola Pelicans snagged three runs in the bottom of the first and never looked back, earning a win at home. After the first frame, the two teams would combine for just two more runs the rest of the way. Pelicans starter John Webb allowed one run on just three hits while striking out six en route to the complete game victory. His counterpart, El Paso starter Josh Kauten, also went the distance, allowing four runs on seven hits in eight innings, but suffered the tough-luck loss.
