Sioux Falls SS Tim Hutting singled home RF Ben Van Iderstine in the bottom of the seventh inning to break a 1-1 tie and lift the Canaries to a game one win over the Sioux City Explorers. Sioux Falls LF Beau Torbert and 2B Josh Patton each had two hits on the night with Torbert driving in a run. Canaries starting pitcher Pat Mahomes picked up the victory going 7 2/3 innings allowing one earned run on five hits with a walk and eight strikeouts. Canaries closer Kris Regas notched his first save of the postseason going 1 1/3 innings and striking out two batters. DH Walter Young accounted for the only run for Sioux City, a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning. The Explorers will try to even things up at a game apiece tomorrow night sending 12-game winner Alexander Francisco to the mound against 13-game winner Ryan Ford of Sioux Falls.

Time: 3:00 Attendance: 3,011 W: Geivy Garcia (1-0) L: Brian Martin (0-1) S: James Morrison (1) HR: GP-Aaron Garza (1), JB Tucker (1); FW-John Allen (1) Grand Prairie C JB Tucker launched a two-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to break a 4-4 tie and help the AirHogs beat the Fort Worth Cats in game one of the South Division Finals. Grand Prairie 1B Billy Munoz went 3-for-5 on the night with a RBI while 2B Brandon Carter went 2-for-4 and drove in two runs. Geivy Garcia notched the win in relief for the AirHogs hurling a scoreless seventh inning. Grand Prairie closer James Morrison pitched 1 2/3 innings and struck out three batters to collect his first save of the postseason. DH John Allen led the way offensively for Fort Worth going 3-for-4 with a solo home run in the bottom of the eighth inning. 2B Jake Gautreau chipped in with two hits of his own for the Cats.
