Lincoln 5, Grand Prairie 2
Lincoln scored four runs in the first three innings en route to taking a win over the visiting AirHogs. C Ryan Wiggins hit a two-run home run in the second to make the lead 3-0, and RF Brian Joynt laced an RBI single in the third. Joynt and LF Carlton Salters had two hits each for the Saltdogs. 2B Jamodrick McGruder hit two solo shots to account for all of the Grand Prairie offense. DH Zane Chavez also had two hits for the AirHogs.
RHP Shairon Martis struck out five over six innings to earn the win for Lincoln. RHP Marshall Schuler worked a scoreless ninth for the save.
Gary SouthShore 5, Sioux Falls 2
The RailCats used a two-run first to gain an early advantage and never looked back against the Canaries. After a one-out walk, CF Jon Jones hit a double to put two in scoring position. C Jaime Del Valle hit an RBI groundout, and RF Tilman Pugh came through with an RBI single. Pugh drove in another run on a sacrifice fly in the sixth, and LF Adam Taylor hit a sacrifice fly in the seventh. 1B Michael Schroeder capped the scoring with an RBI single in the eighth.
Taylor and Jones had two hits each to lead the RailCats. SS Vickash Ramjit homered for Sioux Falls.
The win went to RHP Rene Solis, who allowed three hits in six shutout innings. He struck out four Canaries in the outing. RHP Andy Loomis worked a scoreless ninth for the save.
