Fargo-Moorhead 10, Wichita 5

It was all Fargo-Moorhead in this one as the RedHawks rolled out to a 6-0 lead after two innings and would cruise to a 10-5 victory over the Wichita Wingnuts. Third basemen Eric Campbell had a great game at the plate for Fargo-Moorhead going 3-for-4 with a home run, two doubles and seven runs batted in. CF Buddy Sosnoskie had a 4-for-5 game with three runs scored while C Ryan Delgado collected two hits and plated a run. RedHawks starting pitcher Aaron Shafer won his fifth game going 6 1/3 innings giving up four earned runs on seven hits.

Gary SouthShore 3, New Jersey 0 (Completion of Suspended Game from July 21 - 7 Innings/Game 2)

Gary SouthShore gained a split in the doubleheader from yesterday as the RailCats beat the New Jersey Jackals in game two, 3-0. Right fielder Mike Massaro and CF Mike Coles were the offensive stars for Gary SouthShore as they combined to collect four of the team's seven hits and score all three runs. Massaro was 2-for-3 with two runs scored while Coles had two hits and plated a run. RailCats starting pitcher Jon Gulbransen tossed five solid innings en route to his first victory. Gulbransen allowed two hits and two walks while striking out six batters.

Gary SouthShore 9, New Jersey 6 (Regularly Scheduled Game)

Gary SouthShore holds off a late rally by New Jersey to win by the score of 9-6. Down 9-1 in the eighth inning, the Jackals put the first six batters on base to score four runs. In the ninth, they sent the winning run to the plate, but Matt Nandin popped out to second base with the bases loaded to end the ballgame. RailCats' right-hander Morgan Coombs earned his fourth win of the season after allowing one run on seven hits with five strikeouts. The top third of the RailCats lineup combined for seven runs with Mike Massaro going 3-for-5 and Mike Coles going 3-for-4 with a three-run home run.
