Fargo-Moorhead 9, Winnipeg 7-Box Score
The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawk have now won 13 of their last 14 games after defeating the Winnipeg Goldeyes 9-7 on Monday.
LF Devan Ahart drove in the first run for the RedHawks in the top of the first with an RBI double. In the next at-bat, DH Chris Jacobs drove in RF Tim Colwell with a groundout to make it 2-0. Later in the inning, 3B Leobaldo Pina hit a two-run double to make it 4-0.
The Goldeyes cut the lead to two on a two-run double by 1B Kyle Martin in the bottom of the second.
Fargo-Moorhead added two insurance runs on a two-run double by 2B T.J. Bennett in the top of the eighth. Winnipeg answered scoring two to make it 6-4 on a DH Tyler Hill home run in the following frame.
SS Yhoxian Medina hit a solo home run in the top of the ninth and later in the frame Ahart hit a two-run home run to bring the game to a 9-4 score.
Winnipeg scored three in the bottom of the ninth but RHP Geoff Broussard was able to shut the door and earn a one out save.
