St. Paul 6, Winnipeg 4 (11 innings)

St. Paul designated hitter Ole Sheldon hit a three-run homer in the seventh inning to tie the score at 4-4 and bring the game into extra innings, and the Saints beat Winnipeg 6-4 in the 11th inning at Shaw Park. Winnipeg scored all four of its runs in the first inning when shortstop Wes Long and third baseman Brian Myrow each batted in a run, and designated hitter Luis Alen followed with a two-run homer. Both teams were scoreless during the next three frames before St. Paul got on the board when center fielder Jonathan Van Every batted in first baseman Jason Cooper. After Sheldon's homer in the seventh, the Saints recorded two runs on two hits in the 11th to top Winnipeg. Right fielder Argelis Nunez led St. Paul with three hits and one RBI in six at-bats, while Alen chipped in three hits, one run and two RBI in four at-bats for Winnipeg. Caleb Thielbar, now 2-3 on the season, earned the win by allowing just one hit, no runs and striking out five in three innings pitched.
