Sioux City starter Billy Keppinger was brilliant, twirling a two-hit shutout and striking out five for his fourth win of the season. The Explorers' first run came on LF Jorge Moreno's RBI double in the fourth inning. X's C Mike Richardson then drove in a run on a fielder's choice in the sixth. Matt Kozaira was the hard-luck loser for Sioux Falls, giving up one earned run on five hits in six innings of work for the Canaries. CF Zack Pace went 2-for-4 for Sioux City.

Pensacola 11, St. Joe 7

Pensacola scored six runs in the final two innings to rally for a victory over St. Joe. The Blacksnakes went up 6-2 after C Jefferson Infante's two-run single in the third inning, but couldn't hold the lead as the Pelicans tallied one in the fifth, two in the sixth, three in the eighth and three more in the ninth. RF Juan Rocha finished the afternoon 3-for-5 with a double and two RBI for Pensacola, while 2B Denver Kitch was 3-for-4 for St. Joe.

Lincoln 3, St. Paul 2

HR: None

Lincoln got a superb start from Lindsay Gulin and held on for a 3-2 victory, clinching the North Division first-half championship. It is the first time the franchise has won a half-season championship. In 8 1/3 innings pitched, Gulin gave up just two hits and struck out six. The Saltdogs scored one in the first on RF Bryan Warner's RBI double, and added two more in the seventh on CF Evan Tartaglia's RBI single and Warner's sacrifice fly. The two runs proved to be crucial, as St. Paul scored two unearned runs in the ninth, but couldn't manage to tie the game.
