Amarillo's Stockman sold to Cleveland

Durham, NC -- Landon Stockman became the second Central Baseball League player sold today when the Cleveland Indians purchased him from Amarillo. Earlier in the day, Shreveport's Thad Markray was bought by the Kansas City Royals.

Stockman, who is in his first year with the Dillas, was 1-2 with two saves in 18 appearances, all out of the bullpen, and had an ERA of 4.21. In 25 2/3 innings, he has allowed 14 runs, 12 earned, while striking out 29.

Originally selected by the Detroit Tigers in the 13th round of the 2001 draft, Stockman went a combined 7-11 with 23 saves and an ERA of 4.04 in three years of Single-A baseball. Last season, he pitched for Lakeland of the Florida State League going 2-3 with seven saves in 44 games.

Stockman is the sixth CBL player to be sold and 20th to appear on an affiliated team's roster.
