THE STAKES: Playoff positioning is on the line Saturday night at Toyota Field for both teams. The Dusters are tied for 3rd place in playoff seeding with Oklahoma City and Rio Grande Valley, all with a record of 6-4. Currently, Memphis (9-1) and Tulsa (7-3) hold the top 2 spots of the 6 available for the National Conference Playoffs. Bakersfield and Central Valley are not far behind, with 4-6 and 5-5 records, respectively. The Dusters hope to improve upon their 4-1 home record, and rebound after Saturday Night's heart-breaking loss to the Yard Dawgz. The Blitz travel to Amarillo following an exciting 36-33 home victory over the Arkansas Twisters, and are attempting to win their second road game of the year and put together their first winning streak of the season as well.

COACH PERDUE'S THOUGHTS ON BAKERSFIELD:
"The Blitz are playing very solid on the defensive side of the ball right now, and Jason Thomas is a great athlete. He was a Heisman Candidate going into his senior year at UNLV, and he's a natural leader. They want this win badly, because they still are very much in the playoff hunt, just like we are. I really think that this game is more about us taking a look in the mirror and finding out if we are truly going to be a championship-caliber team this year. It's clear that we have probably one of the three most athletically gifted teams in af2, but it's also clear that we do some really stupid things at crucial times. Sometimes we rely too heavily on our athleticism rather than what we've been coached, and the result is inconsistent performances, especially on defense and special teams. You have to be disciplined on defense and on special teams. Offensively, you can think outside of the box, and let your playmakers make plays. That's not really the case on defense and special teams. We're going to shake up the lineup again this week, and we hope to find the right mix. "

DUSTERS HEAD COACH STEVE PERDUE

TV SPOTLIGHT SHINES BRIGHTLY ON THE DUSTERS:
The Amarillo Dusters are currently being featured in a documentary being filmed and produced by the Discovery Times Channel. The documentary is part of a series entitled ‘Only in America' and will tentatively air in September of 2005. The Discovery Times Channel brings viewers the best of the Discovery Channel and the New York Times each day. For more information, log on to their website at www.discoverytimes.com.

DUSTERS INTERNET RADIO BROADCAST A HUGE SUCCESS
The Amarillo Dusters are developing a huge fan base nationwide, as the number of listeners for the game broadcast over the website has doubled since the season opener. "We have lots of players' families listening in across the country, and we've received dozens of e-mails from fans nationwide who are just interested in the Dusters and curious about us as an expansion team, " said Dusters play by play broadcaster Donny Hooper. "We have a unique broadcast for this level of football, in that we have a 15-year veteran football official as our sideline reporter (Ray Boring). He offers tremendous insight as to what is actually happening on the field. Tyler Hooper runs the parabolic field mic, so much like an NFL radio broadcast, our listeners can actually hear the quarterback bark the snap count, and try to draw the opponent offsides. Warren McCarty brings so much knowledge of the arena game to the broadcast, and helps the listener ‘see' the routes and visualize the play itself. And mixed in with all of that, we have a great time and cut-up as much as we can. We have so much fun, and I think it makes our broadcast fun to listen to." The broadcast can be heard locally on 1440 AM The Score, Amarillo's ESPN Radio affiliate. Fans can also tune in via the Dusters website at www.dustersfootball.com.

KEY MATCHUP: DUSTERS OFFENSE VS. BLITZ DEFENSE
Two powerhouses will square off on Saturday night, as af2's #1 ranked offense and af2's #2 ranked defense do battle. The Dusters enter the game hitting on all cylinders offensively, scoring 60.3 points per game. Meanwhile, the Blitz have given opponents fits all season long, and are allowing only 38.6 points per game.
